Abstract
What is it about adult male spanking that draws people into the scene? In this presentation, authors Justin and Trevor report what they learned in their year-long research which culminated in the publication of the book, Bad Lads, Strict Sirs, and the World of Adult Male Spanking (Adynaton Press). The first book of its kind, it features not only Justin and Trevor’s reflections and experiences, but also draws upon archival materials, a survey of more than 350 community members, and interviews with prominent community experts and leaders. From this, Justin and Trevor offer insights that address questions such as:
What factors, influences, or life experiences lead or have led guys into exploring the male spanking kink?
How has the male spanking kink evolved over time?
What are the different forms of spanking play?
What do people look for in a male-male spanking experience?
What role does headspace play in the adult male spanking kink?
How are safety and consent incorporated and maintained in the act of adult male spanking?
How have art, writing, videos, and events influenced and shaped the adult male spanking community?
How have the dynamics of the adult male spanking community evolved over time?
Justin and Trevor will address these questions in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the adult male spanking community, after which they are glad to answer any questions you may have.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
Explain key points in the evolution of adult male spanking as a kink and factors that influence each person’s journey within it;
Identify key points of interest regarding dynamics of spanking play; and
Describe the breadth of the adult male spanking community and the elements that comprise it.
Presentation Content Level: Introductory - Intermediate. This webinar will provide an introduction to the topic but also provide an opportunity for discussion at a more advanced level that presupposes basic knowledge of alternative sexualities communities.
About the Presenters
Justin is a lifelong participant in the adult male spanking community and co-author of the book, Bad Lads, Strict Sirs, and the World of Adult Male Spanking. He has been actively involved in the adult male spanking community as a participant, fiction and non-fiction author, actor, event facilitator, seminar instructor, and more. He finds spanking to be a central part of his personal identity.
Trevor is a lifelong participant in and contributor to the adult male spanking community. He has experience in many aspects of the community and is co-author of the book, Bad Lads, Strict Sirs, and the World of Adult Male Spanking. He is particularly known and respected throughout the community for his experience and guidance with online mentoring and accountability relationships.
